Askozia was started as a proof-of-concept project at the Ostfalia University in Wolfenbüttel, Germany in January 2007. The project’s focus was to demonstrate the feasibility of building a lightweight embedded PBX firmware upon Open Source software while providing a superior consumer usability experience.
